How hand drawn safety videos transformed safety communication for a 1,500 person workforce on the North East Link project in Melbourne, Australia.
Traditional training methods, printed handbooks and lecture-based inductions, were failing to land. Research showed workers retained very little. With a large, diverse workforce spanning multiple trades and disciplines, Spark NEL needed a more impactful way to deliver critical safety information, including to lone workers like truck drivers, who are rarely in a room together.
MrYScribe worked with Spark NEL's safety training team to develop four hand drawn safety videos, each targeting a distinct risk area. The format made complex technical content accessible across language and literacy levels, and was easily distributed to mobile devices, getting the message directly to workers wherever they were, whether on-site or on the road.
